Eczema
« on: 14 July 2009, 23:08:34 »
I have suffered from this since being a baby, and have been through every cream and potion known to man or beast !  A lot of which have side effects.

I would be interested in swapping ideas with anyone suffering, what you use and how you deal with outbreaks etc.

I tend to use a lot of perfume free items, and a lot of tee tree products, which are quite purifying,

I also make little oatmeal poultices for the bath - literally just bung some in a sock or stocking and leave it in the water - makes the skin soft.

Sunlight streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor...
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.

sorry to hear you suffer with that debbie it is not pleasant, many years ago when my aunt was alive she suffered with it quite badly, and I remember looking for all types of things to help her and I remember a lady saying that a brand cream called ROC used to help her greatly with her eczeme and her psoraisis also. She said you can get it on perscription as well as over the counter it may help you a bit ask your doctor or pharmisist what they think. :halo:

While this site does not seem to have a section on Eczema it does have a whole load of old time cures for many other problems.

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/8929/cures.html

Some of what is in there needs to be taken with a grain of salt - but who knows it may help someone

Make sure that the "remedies" you might try are safe. Think some people add things that might not be, The one that suggests soaking feet (I think) in bleach is a good example of what not to try.......

german chamomile essential oil can help with skin lesions and problems as does Roman chamomile, but its a bit trial and error with essential oils
