What are you reading?
« on: 21 November 2008, 20:01:11 »
I am currently reading a Sue Grafton book, she is a PI in USA and its a set of Alphabet mysteries, guite gripping really because the auther is adept at making you feel you are there, experiencing what is happening to the 'star' of the book,

What are you reading?

Sunlight streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor...
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.

I have just finished a penny junor book called Victim or villain about Prince charles it is basically an answr to princess dianas book by andrew norton.
It is worth a read in so much as it gives an insight into the strange ways of the aristocracy in this country.

I have a large book to start now on Jaqueline kennedy
we have so much to learn and such a short time to learn it in

I'm afraid I'm the same as you Lou.  I just can't get absorbed in a book (maybe I'm too lazy)

I love reading always have, many years ago my mum had a second hand book business and I thought all my birthdays had come at once, needless to say I was always there supposed to be working but secretly ploughing through as many books as I could. I have enough books in this house at the moment to open a stall ha, :halo:

I don't read much but if and it is a BIG IF a book can capture my mind within the first few pages of the first chapter then I read it!

Wendy Holden Tom Sharp to name just two
There are one or two other authors which have and can transport me into their story's but with me its very hard to get me to open a  book in the first place, my wife mentions a few authors when we are out looking in charity shops (50 p) books are great and would not go above the dreaded £1.00  :laughing9: I have read several books by the same author and had to read one twice because they were written in sequence (I did not know at the time) :confused2:
I have to read service manuals and bulletins so that puts me off picking one up after work  :censored:
I may not be perfect, but being this close to it is spooky

I used to always read when small, and growing up.

But now a days prefer to read things off the net.

I am currently reading a Jeremy Clarkson book. 'I know you got soul' about various innovative and failed modes of transport, weapons etc - I had forgotten how utterly funny he is !

I have just read the story of fred and rose west the serial killers, interesting reading  I think she was actiually more deranged than he was if that is at all possible, and the fact that the police and social workers, were often at the house in cromwell street over the years and did not pick up on anything just shows how clever the pair of them were.

@debbie can i borrow the book?
i find it strange that rose led Fred into things, OK he was up to do those awful things so not Innocent. but Ian led Myra into similar and she gets all the shit. you don't here much about the wests now, but Myra crops up alot. and then their is the Huntley stuff. all evil but people seem to latch to one person
